Today (not in 20 years)
I rode from Emory U (one of USA’s most sustainable universities) to/from Atlanta’s Piedmont Park today, all on safe routes (bike lanes, comfortable neighborhood streets, numerous connecting linear parks, path along Freedom Parkway, Atlanta BeltLine, and protected two-way cycle track with parents with kids on cargo bikes). I still have to drive (or take MARTA, but that gets into interesting escalator/elevator scenarios!) from so-called “family friendly” ‘burbs to the city to ride safely. But it’s important because if I want to be able to ride bikes with my (potential future) grandchildren, I need to ride today (not in 20 years).
