The City of Dunwoody will announce tonight at its State of the City Address that it is creating the first four protected bike lanes (with bollards/planters) in metro-Atlanta suburbs. The locations, pictured, are already painted with zebra stripes and include a road near a park, a school, a shopping center, and City Hall. In just the first five years since Dunwoody became the newest city in the USA, it also became an Atlanta Regional Commission Certified Green Community at the gold (highest) level. So this is not surprising. Except it’s not true (the protected-bike-lane announcement part). But why not? This one’s easy.
