The gates were open this time, so I could walk through the gravel lot up to the Atlanta BeltLine section being built through this imperiled neighborhood to do the next installment of my three-year photo essay. I’m following what happens At The End of Holderness Street after a beloved community garden got eliminated so its space could be used as a construction staging area. I didn’t notice the street until I was leaving, right after two Mack trucks barreled past me. Heavy equipment has finally broken its back. This photo shows my phone (for size comparison) in the hole.
