Better than locks or cameras

IMG_4571.JPGHere are eight tips that work together better than locks or cameras for your community garden: (1) planting a thieves/sharing garden where anyone can pick freely; (2) encouraging a lively presence (hint: if you put in irrigation/water timers, people have no reason to stop by and water anymore); (3) donating to local food pantries; (4) personalizing beds so they look loved; (5) harvesting frequently, so no rotting food; (6) doing media outreach so community can be involved; (7) providing public access to local food abundance throughout the community (public fruit trees and herb-filled planters); (8) accepting some loss as a potential gain for a garden convert longterm.
