You cross over Suwanee Creek, not river (as in the song written about a waterway in Florida, not Georgia), as you enter this master-planned downtown resplendent with a spanking clean LEED-certified City Hall surrounded on both sides by an arc of retail and restaurants. There’s public art and bikeshare dotting the massive public green across the street. Clear signage (including an actual correct use of sharrows as wayfinding) takes you on bike through a residential neighborhood punctuated by street trees and front porches to gorgeous trails winding through woods and along waterways and wetlands. Good job, City of Suwanee. I couldn’t get to a supermarket on bike, but I did love all the boardwalks.
