Persistent and powerful symbol

pedalpowerhourI want to tell you the stories from yesterday, the reasons why those seven women came to my Bike Basics Lunch-n-Learn sponsored by the City of Norcross, GA’s Sustainability Commission. But they are so personal, so intimate, so moving that I  think I’ll keep them private, between them and me. All I can tell you is that the bike is a persistent and powerful symbol for so many positive things in people’s lives, and if we have fallen in love with it once, we go back to it again and again and again in life. And there’s something quite beautiful about that.
