10 miles of protected bliss
Love to ride your bike but don’t want to ride with motor vehicle traffic? You’re not alone, and you’re not in need of confidence. Women have more than enough confidence. You need places to ride that align with the level of risk that works for you and your family.
I get it, and I’m working on putting together a 10-mile loop of (mostly) protected bike lanes in the City of Atlanta with you in mind (originating at the Arts Center MARTA Station — just 15 minutes via train from the Dunwoody and Sandy Springs stations). It is almost 100% separated from cars/trucks/buses and is truly breathtaking — it’s Mini Belty! (Warning: after experiencing this, it will piss you off that you have to wait 5, 10, 20 years for comparable access if you live or work in the “family friendly” burbs.)
I may offer a free tour of this with some Smart Cycling tips tossed in. Let me know if you are interested.
BIG THANKS to the City of Atlanta and the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition for the amazing progress you are making re: access for all. This is a dream come true especially for women, who say overwhelmingly in surveys that we want separated and protected bike access.
