Rode to Decatur in the rain yesterday. I found out the trikes class I teach was cancelled for the day, but I just kept riding — 24 miles! Good to work on rain skills, and it was actually lovely!!! Also, protected bike lanes and paths reduce motor vehicle danger significantly, but there are still things to watch for — especially right and left hooks by drivers at intersections (and how to reduce your chances of being hit), debris and blockages in the lane (and what to do about them), and more. I cover these issues in classes. Quick tip — green paint is misleading. Sometimes it means you are safe; most times, however, it means you are in a conflict zone. How you respond to this difference matters.
